Harry Potter and the Stunted Adults
A character discussion around the authority figures of Harry Potter and the different ways in which things they experienced when they were young colored their judgment and actions during the series. There has been plenty of conversation around Snape, obviously... However, Snape is not alone in allowing past experiences to decide future actions. Hagrid, Petunia Dursley, Sirius Black and Albus Dumbledore are some characters that come to mind.

Characters We Love (and love to hate)
In this interactive workshop, participants will peel back text to examine how and why some lesser characters bring about strong fan responses that they did. Who could have foreseen the Blaise Zabini situation? Why didn’t poor Hannah Abbott, or Malcolm Baddock, get the same reaction? What about Isaac in TFIOS or Madge Undersee in the Hunger Games? Let’s give them some love and address what draws readers to some minor characters.
