Jodie is a PhD candidate in the Anthropology of Religion, currently residing in Arizona.  Her current academic work focuses on the "spiritual, but not religious" movement, and ways in which people create meaningful lives outside of traditional religious structures.  She teaches college and university courses on a variety of subjects, but particularly focused on religion and popular culture. Jodie has presented research on religion and fandom in across the U.S. and U.K., and recently published a chapter on alternative religions and pop culture.
