The Writer and the Beta, or What a Slash & M/M Writer Can Learn if They Climb Down Off Of Their High Horse.

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Betas are an indispensable part of the writing process. Betas keeps writers on track chronologically, finds SPAG mistakes, and makes a writer's prose and structure better. Slash and professional m/m authors will join up with their long-term betas to discuss the following topics: Why a new set of eyes is important. What a writer can learn if they’ll LISTEN. The difference between a beta and an editor. Why it’s important that you check your ego at the door. Why a beta needs to feel comfortable telling an author the truth. When a manuscript is so f**ked up, even a good beta can’t save it. Things authors have learned from out betas and vice versa. Come join us and talk about your own beta experiences--on both sides of the subject!
